Our Company & Management
Our company is owned by Jeffrey P. Jacobs, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, and his father, Richard E. Jacobs. We are a developer, owner and operator of gaming and pari-mutuel wagering facilities throughout the United States, with properties located in Colorado, Louisiana, Nevada and Virginia.
Our vision is to develop a broad, geographically diverse portfolio of gaming facilities that provide customers with an enjoyable entertainment experience. We will achieve this by:

- Providing good quality and value-oriented food products and dining options

Our Casinos
Our five casino operations span across Black Hawk, Colorado and Northern Nevada.
The Lodge Casino, located in Black Hawk, CO is our flagship casino property. The Lodge opened in June 1998, and features a mountain lodge theme, encompassing 25,000 square feet of gaming space, with 940 slot machines and 30 table games, including Craps and Roulette and a 15-table poker room. The property also has three restaurants, Seasons Buffet, White Buffalo Grille and Jake's Deli, four bars and offers 50 boutique hotel rooms.
The Gilpin Casino, was one of the first casinos to open in Black Hawk, Colorado following the legalization of gambling in October of 1992. The Gilpin is situated on one acre in the historic gaming district of Black Hawk and through numerous expansion and renovation efforts, now encompasses 37,000 square feet, offering over 450 slot machines, Blackjack, Craps, Roulette, one restaurant, Lucille Malone's and a new exclusive 16-table Poker Room.
Gold Dust West was acquired by our company in 2001, and is located on 4.6 acres in Reno's central downtown gaming district. The property has been operating since 1978 and is a locals' favorite offering 492 of the latest slot machines, The Wildwood Restaurant and 40 motel rooms. In Aug. 2006, the property will complete the expansion of its surface parking lot to accommodate 350 vehicles.
Pinon Plaza Casino Hotel, located in Carson City, NV is JEI's most recent acquisition (June 2006). Renamed Gold West Casino Carson City, the property sits on 17.7 acres and incorporates almost 50,000 square feet of gaming, restaurant and retail space. The property boasts 360 slot machines, 5 table games including a dedicated Poker Room with 3 tables. Additional amenities include 148 hotel rooms, 48-space RV park, a 32-lane Bowling Center, two restaurants and on-site parking for 750 vehicles.
Gold Dust West, Elko, located in Elko, NV is currently under development with plans to open in early 2007. The site is located directly off of I-80 (Exit 301) and is only one mile from the Elko airport. The property will feature approximately 13,000 square feet of gaming including 350 TITO slot machines and 8 table games. In addition Gold Dust West Elko will offer a sports bar, 24-hour restaurant and 400 parking spots.
Louisiana Gaming Properties
Our Louisiana operations include 21 truck plaza video gaming facilities located throughout the state. Each truck plaza features a convenience store, fueling operations, a restaurant operating not fewer than 12 hours per day, and a maximum of 50 video poker devices. Our video gaming machines are located in a separate gaming room that is designed to provide a pleasant casino-like atmosphere, including a frequent player loyalty card program for all our Cash Magic casinos.
To note, the Louisiana video gaming industry is legal in 31 of Louisiana's 64 parishes and video gaming machines can only be placed in qualifying bars, restaurants, hotels, satellite wagering facilities and truck plazas. In order to qualify for video gaming a truck plaza must offer diesel fuel, gasoline, a convenience store, a restaurant and a place for truck drivers to shower and sleep.
Colonial Downs
Our racetrack facility, Colonial Downs, opened in 1997 in New Kent, Virginia and conducts pari-mutuel wagering on thoroughbred and harness racing. The first floor of the expansive compound includes the outside grandstand area with a capacity of 4,000 patrons, plus two simulcast television amphitheaters, two covered patio-seating areas, four bars, a food court, gift shop and numerous betting stations. The Jockey Club, located on the third floor, includes a full-service dining area with seating capacity for 548 patrons, two separate lounge areas and additional wagering locations. On the fourth floor is the Turf Club with full-service dining for 125 people, along with 10 luxury suites.
Colonial Downs is best known for the 180-foot Secretariat Turf course, widest in the nation. The $1,000,000 Virginia Derby is Colonial Downs' marquee event. The Derby is for three year-olds and is contested at a mile and a quarter over the Secretariat Turf Course. In 2005, Colonial Downs created a new stakes race – The Colonial Turf Cup – which together with the Virginia Derby forms the first two legs of the Grand Slam of Grass.
Colonial Downs offers year-round simulcast wagering at its nine (9) Off-Track Betting Centers, as well as during live racing at the New Kent track. Each day racing fans can watch and wager thoroughbred and harness racing events on up to 23 tracks from around the country.
